$5 per student – 30 minute programs

$7 per student – 2 hour programs (The Change Will Do You Good Programs I & II)
All Field Trips include HW! Exhibit Floor and Main Brain Theater.

Teachers and chaperones are always free. Children qualifying for free lunch program are free, courtesy of Memorial Health Foundation. Ask us about our Teacher’s Credit Union discount.

Hummer Outreach
All Hummer programming is $150 per hour, plus mileage. Call for non-profit rates.

What does a HW! Field trip include?

1 or 2 hours of interactive programming, of your choice, with a HW! High Flying Kid Motivator for grades K-8 (30 minutes of programming for pre-schoolers).
1 hour to explore our hands on exhibit floor and see our exciting Main Brain Theater.
A post packet to take back to school after your visit.

What do I need to know about scheduling a field trip to HW!?

All field trips need to be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.

Please have the following ready before you call:

A couple of tentative dates, if you are scheduling for multiple classes please check with other teachers first.
What time you would like to visit.
How many students you will be bringing.
Your school information (name, address, phone, etc).
Please check to make sure that buses are available.
What HW! program you would like to see.

When you are ready to schedule please call 574-647-2682.

What important things do I need to know about my visit to HW!?

The minimum number of students required for a school field trip is 15.
The cost is $6.00 per student.
Chaperones are FREE! We recommend one adult per six students; however you may bring more if so desired.
We want to get to know you so name tags are encouraged.
Payment is due upon arrival we accept cash, check or credit (all forms except American Express). Checks can be made payable to HealthWorks! Kids' Museum.
Please let us know in advance if your group may require special assistance.
Bus parking is free. Parking for cars is on the street or in the parking garage where there is a fee (for more information about parking, see below)

Any discounts?

Children on the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program have the ability to visit HW! for FREE. In order to receive this benefit, have your principal write a letter on school stationary indicating the number of students enrolled in the program, the cost will then be underwritten by the Memorial Health Foundation.
Members of Teachers Credit Union are able to receive $1.00 off of each student in their class.
Schools bringing their whole school will receive $1.00 off each student.
If your field trip includes 2 programs with the same group of students there is a discount on the second class.

What happens when I arrive at HW!

You will be met by a High Flying Kid Motivator (HW! Educator) and a Captain of the Universe (HW! Floor presenter) at the main entrance. At this point you will be given instructions as to where your tour will begin, and what rules to follow during your visit. You will then proceed with HW! staff up the stairs to your designated location.
We recommend that the lead teacher stop at the front desk at the beginning of the tour to take care of paperwork and payments.

Where do I park if I am not coming by bus?

If you are coming by car or van you may park in the adjacent city parking garage in a non-reserved spot on the 6th floor at the rate of $2.00 for the first 2 hours and $1 for each additional hour. We regret that we are unable to validate parking for the garage does not belong to HealthWorks! it belongs to the city. There is also limited parking on the street, free of charge.

Can we eat lunch at HW!?

Unfortunately, HW! does not have a lunch facility. However, we do have a beautiful courtyard where you are welcome to eat lunch, weather permitting, to make arrangements please call 574-647-2682.
There is also a nearby facility where small groups are able to take a sack lunch and eat free of charge.

What are teachers/chaperones responsible for during there visit to HW!

Having as much fun as possible with the students. We suggest one adult per six children. A chaperone should know in advance which children they are responsible for, during the visit they should be watching to make sure that the children are safe and following the rules.

What if I need to cancel/reschedule?

If you are unable to come at your scheduled time, please make sure to call 574-647-2682 or 574-647-2680 at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule.
No shows will be charged in full.

What if we have to cancel due to the weather?

Indiana and Michigan weather is ever changing, so if your trip is cancelled due to weather there will be no penalty. Please call 574-647-2682 to reschedule as soon as possible.
